Widgets

The player, on your Home Screen.

See what is playing and run it without opening the app — three Home Screen sizes, three Lock Screen shapes and seven looks.

Home Screen
Small, medium, large
Lock Screen
Rectangular, circular, inline
Looks
7, plus its own light or dark
Requires
iOS 17 or later

Each size does more than the last

  • Small: artwork, title, and previous, play and next
  • Medium: adds the progress or countdown and 15-second skips
  • Large: adds shuffle and repeat, plus a numbered queue you can tap — six rows on most phones
  • A live radio station shows a LIVE flag where a track would show its progress

It follows what is playing

  • Playing files, the list is your queue with durations; tap a row and it plays
  • Listening to radio, the list is your station queue with each station’s country; tap a row and it tunes
  • Lock Screen widgets come in the rectangular, circular and inline shapes iOS offers

Seven looks, and its own mode

  • Same as app follows your theme and accent colour as you change them
  • Or pick one: Graphite, Linen, Dusk, Tide, Copper or Nocturne
  • The widget keeps its own System, Light or Dark setting, whatever mode your phone is in

Questions

About the widgets

Why can’t I find the FoxFM widget?

The widget needs iOS 17 or later. The app itself runs on iOS 16, but on iOS 16 the widget is not installed and will not appear in the widget gallery.

Can I control playback from the widget?

Yes. Every size has previous, play/pause and next; medium and large add 15-second skips, and large adds shuffle, repeat and a queue you can tap to jump straight to a track or station.

Can the widget look different from the app?

Yes. It has seven looks — Same as app, Graphite, Linen, Dusk, Tide, Copper and Nocturne — and its own System, Light or Dark setting, independent of the app.

Does the widget work with radio?

Yes. A playing station shows on the widget with a LIVE flag, and the large size lists your station queue.
